About Us

Bringing New Nollywood to International Audiences

The Nollywood Diaspora Film Series is a platform for bringing world-class Nigerian films to international audiences. The home video Nollywood era is making way for international standard films with universal storylines and world class acting. NDFS is proud to be one of the pioneers of world-class content and events highlighting Nollywood 2.0 in the US. We’re creating a shift from having the world identify Nigerian cinema with quick-to-market soap opera style films with a handful of repeated storylines. As valuable as this iteration of Nollywood was for bringing the world’s attention to Nigerian/West-African cinema and entertainment, there is a more compelling narrative of independent (and industry) filmmaking and television that is redefining African media. The Nollywood of high-quality productions is here to stay, and can only multiply in success in the coming years.

Our commitment to you is to source films by and about Nigerians which rival the best films of other international film industries/markets in production quality, storytelling quality and aesthetic pleasure. Nigerians in the Diaspora as well as friends of Nigeria are seeking content that teaches us Nigeria’s cultures and peoples; and which does so with authenticity, texture and beauty.
We stay on the pulse of what is African media and our events are always a great opportunity for networking--for young filmmakers and film lovers; dialogue—about truly relevant issues pertinent to Nigeria, her children and her neighbors; and inspiration. Whether you are a film lover, filmmaker, actor or producer, we have something for you. Join our community to be part of the Nollywood 2.0 Revolution.
